RobertKysela_NL_small_2011The internet offers almost incredible possibilities to develop one´s creative abilities and impart itself while at the same time conserving the private sphere of almost each individual. The anonymity of the web is on the one hand definitely very important, but is on the other hand being abused many times. I am not talking about the anonymity of the internet surfers, I am talking about the website owners. If someone has nothing to hide, why do it then? That is what one should think. However, on some websites the reason is not the wish to remain unrecognised, but it was simply forgotten to tell the visitors who is the one behind the website. When I am surfing through the net, this is a point which comes up repeatedly. Many homepages, very intricately designed, do not show the face behind. For this reason, I would like to use the chance to introduce myself:
I was born in 1965 in Graz, Austria, and grew up with my parents in Weiz (approx. 30 km east of Graz). My performance at the secondary school in Weiz was less than optimal – the desire to see the world was stronger than the teachers wagging their fingers at me. Consequently, I started an apprenticeship as an electromechanic and mechanical engineer in a well known Austrian company. After my time in the Austrian Army (including one assignment at the Golan Heights in 1988), my job brought me to Meiningen/Thueringen, where I witnessed the breakdown of the German Democratic Republic right in front of my eyes. Shortly after that, I took a job at a Northern German company, which led me to the wonderful city of Flensburg at the Baltic Sea, where I live with my wife Antje and two crazy cats plus my little dog Scotty. My profession is a technical training engineer for a company which has specialised on manufacturing packaging plants mainly for the beverage industry. Officially, the online aviation magazine CHECKSIX was founded by myself in 1998, however, the thought is much older. Previously, I had been working for several aviation magazines, different publications in the Flug Revue and until 1997 also in the Top Gun magazine came from me. The work for the CHECKSIX project requires a lot of time, consequently publications in printed media have become an exception. The future ? Well, let´s see. From the idea to put some aeroplane pictures into the WWW a great project has developed. Together with a team of handpicked top photographers we will continuously work very hard in order to meet the great demands which we have set up for ourselves.
I hope that I could give you a little impression about me. If you have any questions, please send me an email. I am looking forward to receive your mails.      e-mail to: chiefeditor@checksix.de
