We did it again – this well known saying could have been adopted by the organizers of the 2006 Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Formidable weather conditions and a terrific program packed with lots of highlights attracted more than 166.000 spectators. It was by far one of the best airshows held since a long time and even if the amount of planes on display had been decreased continuously since the 450+ aircraft on display at former shows, the RIAT 2006 offered a wide range of great military aircraft not only to the general public but as well as to the thousands of enthusiasts who came to THEIR most favourite airshow on the weekend of the 15/17th of July 2006. Especially the flying display was jam-packed that one had no time for a short rest. The show program was a well-balanced mix of state-of-the-art fighterjets, breathtaking aerobatic teams and fine oldtimers as well as some rarely seen prototypes. Beside the aircraft in the static display one could see lots of attractions like oldtimer cars, jet powered dragster cars, robot warriors and much more.
Nowhere else one can get so many thrilling attractions as on an airshow – and the Air Tattoo is the cutting edge of it. Check our articles and youŽll see by yourself!
