The biggest ILA of all time – this had been the headline of our report about the ILA 2004. This statement could once again be used for this year’s event. In 2006 the ILA in Berlin/Schoenefeld took place and with an increase in numbers of visitors of about 25%, (more than 250,000 visitors in 2006 compared to 2004: 201.000), and 1014 exhibitors, (2004: 987), from 42 countries. Therefore we can say that the ILA 2006 has easily excelled its forerunner of 2004. Even an increase of professional visitors had been registered (115,000 in comparison to 105,000 in 2004). This upswing in almost every branch emphasises the importance of the ILA as a trade fair in the aeronautical and space technology field. The concept of Russia embedded as a partner had been reflected in a very positive light, and again it demonstrated Berlin’s strategic location between the East and the West. Visitors embraced this concept in the fashion in which it was offered, over and above the show highlights, which were the presentation of the Airbus A380 and the demonstration of the RAC MiG-29 M-OVT with thrust vector steering. The German Luftwaffe, who were celebrating their 50th anniversary, responded in a most positive way, on both the ground, and in the air. Don’t miss the opportunity, under any circumstances, to catch our report with the top pictures we took during our visit of the ILA 2006.
