Recent strong sales results within the aviation industry together with an excellent flight programme provided some 200,000 visitors to the annual international air and space exhibition held in Berlin between
10th-16th May an airshow to remember with organisers, indicating that last years stagnation, as far fetched as this may seem, within the civil aviation market has finally come to an end. The space industry in particular received a special
boost with the signing of a 3 Million Euro contract for the supply of 30 Ariane-5 booster rockets with the Airbus, Jena Optronik with the French companies while Indraéro Siren secured a substantial quantity of orders. As previously
mentioned, the flight program was truly first class with one of the numerous highlights including the appearance of the Dornier Do-24 ATT which proved to be a hit with the many enthusiasts in attendance. Even though the weather did not
always prove to be very well behaved, in particular Saturday (15th May) which was not at all well suited for an aviation event because of heavy rain and temperatures well below 10° C.
Naturally, CHECKSIX was on site for you - and even
though there was not enough time to report on all of the static displays and exhibitions, we can nevertheless give you a good overview of the excellent flight program provided.
