Amongst the numerous aerobatic teams throughout the world today, one especially stands out: the Flight Demonstration Team of the US NAVY, the BLUE ANGELS. Founded back in 1946, the BLUES are definitely amongst the Top Ten of aerobatic teams flying in the world today. The BLUES make full use of the outstanding capabilities of their Boeing F/A-18A Hornet aircraft – as demonstrated in their spectacular displays. In the United States, the BLUE ANGELS have a reputation that is legendary and is matched only by the FRECCE TRICOLRI of Italy. In regards to their flying skills and choreography, the BLUES ultimately prove that they deserve their hard earned reputation – few other teams put on such an breath taking show – either on the ground or in the air. Unfortunately, the BLUE ANGELS seldom perform outside the North American continent – there are only very few occasions when one can see them outside the US or Canada – Another reason why we should have a closer look at the BLUES.
